Troop 1192 is a youth-led Scouting America troop in Ventura. Scouts plan their own adventures, elect their own leaders, and grow into people their community can count on.
Who we are
Building leaders in Ventura
Troop 1192 gives young people room to take on real responsibility. Scouts decide where the troop goes, plan the menus, navigate the trail, and teach each other the skills they have learned. Adults are there to train them and keep them safe, not to run it for them.
We are chartered by Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and part of theVentura County Council. New families are welcome to visit a meeting any week, with no commitment and nothing to buy beforehand.

Four things the troop is built around
The outdoors, seriously
Monthly campouts, backpacking in the Los Padres, coastal trips, and a week of summer camp. Scouts learn to plan the trip, not just show up for it.
Youth-led, adult-supported
Scouts elect their own leaders and run their own meetings. Adults train, coach, and keep it safe. The patrol makes the decisions.
Service to Ventura
Beach cleanups, food drives, conservation projects, and Eagle projects that leave something behind for the community.
A path to Eagle
Merit badges, rank advancement, and leadership positions that build toward Scouting America’s highest rank.
